And even then, many rides were not operating due to lack of staffing. The same went for the main park.the water park was open from 12-6 and the other park was open from 11-5. I would say that finally things got going around 5pm when they could open up more than just the lazy river. But even when it was open, not all attractions in the indoor water park were open - much of it had to do with not enough staff. At the hotel, the indoor water park did not open until 3pm (through 8pm). Yes, we got a 15% discount, but I would have preferred longer hours with everything being open. The park hours both at the hotel and the actual park were restricted due to COVID. Because of COVID, you had to go the the front desk to get ice and the soda machine on the floor was not working. The room cleaning had a few flaws - some pizza sauce/cheese on the carpet from a prior occupant as well as a bandaid in the sofa. The mattresses had not been switched out and were super soft. The room had gone through a partial renovation with fresh paint and curtains, but the sofa did not match and was from a different design in the room when we were here 11 years ago. It is fine.and the real purpose was to get two families together. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip upon our trip we posted pictures and friends and family were all asking where we went and we told them all that it was truly enjoyable and thing if given the chance they should check it out for themselves they wont be disappointed!! The convenance on how the hotel is set up to walk into the indoor water park or over the small bridge into the theme park makes it even better. The Great Escape is just an exit from Lake George attractions so we were able to check out the town while we enjoyed our stay. The arcade was perfect for after dinner activity. You even saw staff keeping up with the cleanliness throughout. The hotel and water and amusement park was very clean. My son loved the wave runner the staff was very helpful on getting him on and showing him what to do. The indoor water park was just the perfect amount of activity that we were able to enjoy all of it. The front desk was friendly and helpful with any questions. The fact I even had to play this game was absurd! ![]() I had my son and husband go get more towels. I will be contacting corporate Monday! And if you’re wondering no we weren’t going to bed gross and sweaty. I can’t even believe I am even leaving this review. Not to mention my stay here was a small fortune to be denied towels and for a bathroom to smell of urine. In all my years of traveling/vacationing I’ve never heard of hotels/resorts “rationing” towels because they were at full capacity. She kept using the excuse they were at full capacity and didn’t have enough towels. She gave me a look of “oh well not my problem” and refused to accommodate us. Had I known towels were being rationed I wouldn’t have thrown my towels on the floor. I explained at check-in we were informed no daily housecleaning would be available but that we could come and get fresh towels if we needed it. We also needed to be up first thing in the morning so sleeping sweaty and gross wasn’t an option. I explained we needed the towels for tonight because we had been at a lacrosse tournament all day and needed to shower. The woman at the front desk stated they were rationing towels because they were at full capacity and didn’t have enough until the next morning when housekeeping was available. We were only allowed two (we are a family of 5). On our second night I went to the front desk to ask for fresh towels. We needed to call housekeeping to address this. You would think with covid things would be spotless but nope. Not sure what is contributing to the poor/lack of service but by far this has been our worse stay. I’ve been coming to this hotel for years.
